About Andy Rau

Picture
Andy Rau is a lifelong Rochester resident.  Born on the city's eastside to parents of Eastern European descent, Andy currently resides on Birr Street in Rochester's historic Maplewood neighborhood.

For the last two years, Andy has been an active and vital member of the City of Rochester Republican Committee.  He has helped the committee clean its portion of Interstate 390 as part of the New York state Adopt-a-Highway program.  He has also been an integral member of the team's fundraising committee.

Andy is passionate about his community.  He has been a member of the Maplewood Neighborhood Association since 1997.  In 2010, he was elected to the association's board of directors and currently chairs its infrastructure committee.  During that time, Andy has worked tirelessly to garner bipartisan support for construction of an electronic billboard outside of the firehouse on the corner of Dewey and Ridgeway avenues.  Andy has also sought to revitalize Dewey Avenue's crosswalks and pavement.

And, Andy believes Rochester's northwest district deserves a full-time city councilman - someone who can tend to the needs of the community wholeheartedly.
